Living Human Values in Healthcare profession - for healthcare professionals

The Center for Human Values facilitated its first workshop for healthcare professionals – “Living Human Values in Healthcare” in March 2024.
The goal of this interactive workshop was to explore on what it means to live the human values of truth, right action, peace, love, and nonviolence in the healthcare realm and how the engagement of our hearts as well as our minds in the service of others can enable us to care for patients deeply and effectively, their families and the professionals themselves. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants felt that they would be comfortable in articulating human values with their patients and colleagues by more mindful, intentional, positive, empathetic, and compassionate interactions with the individuals they serve and work with. Sathya Sai Baba – Educationist and Humanitarian

The founder of Sri Sathya Sai Organizations around the world is Sathya Sai Baba, who was a renowned educationist, humanitarian, and social reformer (1926-2011). Even though living in a remote village in India, Sai Baba’s teachings and works inspired ongoing educational and humanitarian service projects in virtually every country in the world.  His mission has simply been to transform each individual, family, and society by making all understand our interconnectedness and oneness via the shared universal human
values of Truth, Right Action, Peace, Love and Nonviolence.  These values are inherent in each individual and have been fostered by all of the great religious traditions throughout history.

Sai Baba’s life and teachings can be summarized by the following eight words –

“Love All, Serve All” “Help Ever, Hurt Never”.

Sathya Sai Baba initiated several rural humanitarian service projects including providing free drinking water, free medical care, and free education from kindergarten to post doctorate levels.  Students at all levels are taught to have gratitude to their parents and society by offering their skills and talents in the form of service.  These service projects have been initiated in and around his village of Puttaparthi, India and then replicated throughout India and the world.  Many of the projects focus on those in society who
have been downtrodden and neglected by offering skills training, tutoring, and various education programs, to help them develop self-sufficiency and a better quality of life.

The philosophy of SSSPAVE – the Sri Sathya Sai Program for Awareness of Human Values and Educare is based upon and inspired by the teachings of Sathya Sai Baba. Our goal is to help implement the practice of these inherent human values in every aspect of life, via practical educational programs to achieve confidence and success in all ventures for individual and societal benefit.
